Son of Sutherland ascends to 'King'

TORONTO Rossif Sutherland will join the second season of Toronto-set police-family drama "King," the series' prodco Indian Grove announced Friday. Sutherland, son of veteran thesp Donald Sutherland, stars in Canadian helmer Leonard Farlinger'romantic comedy two-hander "I'm Yours" (eOne), which world preems at the Toronto festival Sunday. The thesp starred in Clement Virgo's 2007 fest pic "Poor Boy's Game," and worked this summer on Wango Films duo April Mullen and Tim Doiron's zombie-demon comedy-chiller "Dead Before Dawn 3D," billed as the first 100% Canadian-funded live-action stereoscopic 3D feature, and which is currently in post. "King" is an original series created and exec-produced by Bernard Zukerman and Greg Spottiswood for Shaw Media's Showcase channel. The second season returns to the schedule Winter 2012.
